Attack on Titan Season 4 part 2 E26: Traitor (Review)

Attack on Titan Season 4 part 2

In Attack on Titan Season 4 part 2 With the impetuous bonding of the remaining stragglers of Marley, Eldia, and the Paradise fugitives in the previous episode, we see the group reluctantly fighting the Jeagerists (who are also their former friends). The entire episode runs around the concept of how their past relationships reflect throughout the current chaos proliferated by Eren Yeager. We can see how their relationships have been progressing for the better by the dramatic turn of events that were taking place.

Attack on Titan Season 4 part 2

As the danger of the entire civilization being wiped-out lurks around the corner, the Scouts are unstoppable and are ready to stop at nothing to save the world, even if they have to kill their former friends, the Jeagerists. They realize that they can’t risk their plan going wrong if they try to avoid bloodshed. They planned to use Azumabito’s flying ship to fight against Eren, which was under the capture of the Jeagerists. But peace wasn’t an option as the brawling Jeagerists were ready to battle against our freedom-fighters as they realized something was wrong. We see Armin and Connie attempting to trick Samuel and Daz so they won’t have to fight. But it all goes downhill when Floch is interrupted by Mikasa when she saves Azumabito. At the same time, we get to see Annie and Reiner fighting alongside Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Connie, and others.

Meanwhile, when Connie and Armin were with Daz and Samuel, Armin gets shot as he tries to reason with them. Samuel seemed heartbroken when he confronts the other two about how they have betrayed them all without thinking of their past relationship. It causes an emotional burst out between the four of them when tragically, Connie ends up killing both of his former colleagues in cold-blood. Hence the title ‘Traitor‘ in this new episode of Attack on Titan reflects the beautiful tragedy of the betrayal of these former friends and how the happy memories of the past weren’t enough to stop them from turning against each other. So far, we have seen some astounding character development on an individual level as everyone copes with the traumas of the hard decisions they have to make and their consequences.

This episode of Attack on Titan was heart-wrenching. It pulled out powerful parallels between the Marleyan Titans’ decisions and how, to the Jaegerists, Conny and Armin were acting exactly like them. It was a tough one to watch. Hopefully, we will also be able to see Captian Levi in action as they try to stop the Rumbling from happening in the upcoming episodes of Attack on Titan. But until that, this one is going to stick with the viewers for a while.
